NeoMetrix Technologies, Inc., a proven provider of 3D scanning and reverse engineering products and services has expanded its presence in Charlotte, North Carolina.

ORLANDO, Fla.June 16, 2016PRLog — NeoMetrix is quickly gaining ground throughout the southeastern United States. Based in Lake Mary, Florida, the 3D solutions company had acquired a sales office in Atlanta, Georgia a year ago, and seem to be making a larger impact by spreading further to Charlotte, North Carolina.

“We see North and South Carolina as the next logical geography for our continued expansion” said Dan Perreault, President of NeoMetrix.  “The strong presence of automotive, aerospace and other manufacturing industries in the area indicates an ongoing need for 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies in the region.”

3D printing, or additive manufacturing has historically been used for rapid prototyping. However, because of the materials’ low costs and high versatility, 3D printing is finding itself more and more involved in the manufacturing process, instead of only design and prototyping.  Additive manufactured parts are being used for jigs, fixtures, molds, and end use parts for commercial sale.

3D scanning, however, has applications in design, manufacturing, and inspection. Parts can be scanned in order to create new 3D CAD models where none currently exist, or to compare manufactured parts with their original designs for inspection and quality control applications.
