LAS VEGAS — The final CES media day was packed with surprises, reveals, and more than anything, Amazon’s Alexa. As GeekWire’s Taylor Soper reports, the voice activated Amazon assistant seemed to be everywhere at the event yesterday, including in LG refrigerators. Alexa now has over 7,000 skills, a seven times increase in the past seven months.

Our second day of reporting from CES also featured appearances by actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. Soper caught up with Ohanian in the halls of Mandalay Bay to talk about car tech and his fiancee, tennis player Serena Williams, whom Ohanian said is a geek like himself.

We also get a look inside Intel’s news conference at the event, which involved a VR demo of a live college basketball game and, of course, barf bags in case the experience was too extreme for any reporters.

Watch our day 2 wrapup above, featuring GeekWire editor John Cook and reporters Taylor Soper and Monica Nickelsburg, and continue reading for headlines and links to the stories we discuss. Also check out all our coverage of CES here.
